Hadley's 2013 dark comedy short film, The Talk, was awarded both the Best Live Action Film and Best of Festival awards at the Santa Monica Teen Film Festival 2014. The festival allows student filmmakers between the ages of 12 and 18 years to submit their films and awards are given to categories ranging from audience choice award to jury award.
Along with the award, Hadley was given $550 worth of Amazon gift cards and a full scholarship to the Relativity Media School of Film, Media and Performing Arts 3-Week Summer intensive worth over $3800.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Santa Monica Teen Film Festival is an interdepartmental initiative between the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division, The Santa Monica Public Library, The Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center and City TV. Its purpose is to provide an outlet for and to showcase the creative talents of teen filmmakers and to encourage youth to use the art of filmmaking as a form of creative expression and commentary on the world in which they live.
